Nicola Masefield (Chair)
Nicola is a qualified teacher who has 18 years’ experience of working with children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties and associated diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum. She has a BSc in Psychology, a Masters in Autism and is a qualified teacher for learners with specific learning difficulties (Dyslexia). Nicola specialises in designing and implementing behaviour support plans, both in school and in the home, with the emphasis being positive, enabling and holistic. She has held a number of educational managerial positions, including Head of House (SENCo) and Deputy Headteacher at a specialist day school in London. She is currently working as an independent practitioner for schools, families and other professionals, specialising in learning and behaviour.
Stuart Arrandale (Treasurer)
Stuart is a Chartered Accountant, sole practitioner in Cambridge. His present practice was formed in 1991.
Pat Ashworth is a retired headteacher from within the state special school sector. Her experience includes working with teams of therapists who have supported pupils with Speech and Language needs and Autism. Her interests are walking, reading and keeping fit so that she can enjoy time with her grandchildren.
Originally from Essex, David is a clinical psychotherapist working in East Cambridgeshire. As well as providing general psychotherapy, he specialises in working with clients on the autism spectrum. He lectures on autism around the UK, and is the author of two books: “Asperger Syndrome – Social Integration Skills Training” and “Integrative Psychotherapeutic Approaches to Autism Spectrum Conditions”. He is a keen amateur thespian, and relaxes by playing the ukulele.
